Glider by Designer Ernö Rubik with no. HA-4717. It is a wooden lacquered model made in the 1960s and is very large. It stands on an aluminum bracket that is attached to a lacquered oak plinth. In good condition with minor lacquer damage and age-related crazing.
Ernő Rubik (1910, Austria-Hungary, now Slovakia 1997) was a Hungarian aircraft designer and the father of Ernő Rubik, the architect who became famous for his mechanical puzzles, such as the Rubik's Cube. Early life Rubik was born in Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovakia). His father went missing on the Eastern Front in 1915. The war orphan enrolled at the Technical University of Budapest in 1929 to study mechanical engineering. Aircraft and bracket will be disassembled for safe shipping. Shipping is once a week, usually on Wednesdays, after payment has been received, and can be done with the following shipping options.
Preferably insured shipping. Registered mail, letterbox parcel or regular parcel are also possible, but at the buyer's risk. The shipping cost in the advertisement is for a registered parcel up to 10 kg; please indicate if it needs to be insured. Everything will be packed to the best of my ability, but I have no control over rough handling by transport companies, and shipping is entirely at the buyer's risk. If possible, an attempt will be made to send as many items as possible in one package to keep shipping costs low.
Reserving items that are not yet for sale is also possible, but only after a 10% down payment with a minimum of 10 euros. The new items arrive in the Netherlands once or twice a year; please keep this in mind when reserving, as it can sometimes take months.
