They were active during World War II, until January 1943. They carried out several acts of sabotage and protest before being destroyed by German forces. Most of the Young Guard's members, approximately 80, were tortured by the Germans and Nazis and subsequently executed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\"\u003eThe eternal flame is made of bronze with acrylic, the other 4 ornaments are made of ebonite.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cbr\u003eAn image of a grieving mother can be seen on the memorial stone.\u003cbr\u003e Everything is screwed together with chrome-plated screws, including the ornaments on the inside.\u003cbr\u003e A photo of a soldier or ornament can be placed on the rectangular piece, but it's not appropriate.
